In today's dynamic world, financial literacy is no longer a privilege; it is a necessity. As a final year BCom. student specializing in finance, I can tell you firsthand. Coming to college with minimal money management skills, I definitely felt the struggle. From overspending to neglecting expense tracking thanks to the ease of UPI, financial literacy gaps can be real. Money plays a powerful role today, and the youth need to be in control.
As the future of India, wouldn't it be great to manage your finances with confidence? Project e-Shaale equips you with the financial tools you need to achieve your personal and professional goals. Whether it's pursuing higher education, starting a small business, or simply having a comfortable life, financial literacy gives you the power to make those dreams a reality.
That's why, at Vimové Foundation, through Project e-Shaale, we bridge this crucial knowledge gap. We tap into the underprivileged sector of government high school and college students with the financial knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the financial landscape of the 21st century.
Project e-Shaale: Your Gateway to Financial Freedom
Project e-Shaale goes beyond smart boards and IFT Panels! We offer interactive "Beyond Education Knowledge Sessions" where we guide you on managing your money effectively and the basic concepts of money and finance.
Many view budgeting as a limitation on their spending freedom. However, budgeting is a tool to help you manage money effectively and reach your financial goals. Similarly, some think paying off debt should take precedence over building an emergency fund. But having an emergency fund can prevent additional debt in case of unexpected expenses. Project e-Shaale teaches you how to do both!
Learn real-world skills like:
- Small Steps, Big Results: Saving doesn't have to involve large sums. Project E-Shaale teaches you the power of small, consistent savings. Learn about saving challenges, where you set aside even a small amount daily or weekly.
- Responsible Borrowing: Understand the basics of loans and interests, so you can use them wisely, if needed.
- Every Rupee Counts: Government school students often have limited financial resources. Project E-Shaale's sessions are designed to show you how to make the most of what you have.
Positive Feedback from the Financial Literacy Session
In line with our mission to provide students with relevant financial knowledge, we recently partnered with Finastra to conduct an interactive financial literacy session at a government high school in Karnataka. The session focused on key topics like budgeting, saving, and financial discipline. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive. They enjoyed learning about new concepts and were excited to share their learnings with their parents.
Empowering the Next Generation
Vimové Foundation believes that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive. Project e-Shaale recognizes that financial literacy is just one piece of the puzzle. In addition to financial literacy, the program also incorporates:
- Digital Literacy: We equip students with the skills to navigate the digital world confidently and safely. This includes learning about online safety, communication tools, and basic computer applications.
- Industry Exposure: Project e-Shaale provides students with exposure to different industries and career paths. This helps them make informed decisions about their future and identify opportunities that align with their interests.
- Life Skills: By teaching essential life skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. These skills are crucial for success in both personal and professional life.
